MeadWestvaco’s Expectations of Its Customers
Potential lease customers should review the Standard Lease Conditions when considering whether to lease from MeadWestvaco. This document provides a full accounting of lease contract provisions.

The following expectations should not be considered a replacement for the Standard Lease Conditions but provide a generalization for the behavior that MeadWestvaco expects of its customers
  • Act in a way which supports the tradition of hunting.
  • Obey all State and Federal laws and regulations and all MeadWestvaco lease contract provisions.
  • Be a responsible steward of all natural resources (wildlife, trees, soil, water) and improvements (roads, gates) on the property. Cutting of trees, nails in trees, and damage to roads are examples of activities which will not be tolerated.
  • Be a good neighbor. Trespass by hunters or hunting dogs (where deer dog hunting is allowed by MeadWestvaco) onto adjoining properties, quarrels with adjoining landowners or hunting clubs, deer stands within 100 feet of lease boundaries or overlooking adjoining properties are examples of behaviors which will not be tolerated.
  • Maintain a clean hunting camp. Appropriately dispose of all trash, including residue from the cleaning of game.
  • Develop a well-managed club. An example of by-laws will be provided to new clubs upon successful completion of a lease contract. By-laws should guide the management of the club and should ensure that clubs can manage internal problems in a fair and just manner.
